Restaurants have been putting points on the board like Tyrese Haliburton. According to the Census Bureau, foodservice sales have strongly outpaced 2024 over the past few months. Despite concerns about high menu prices pushing fans (consumers) back to grocery, the data doesn’t show that shift yet. In fact, restaurants grabbed a record share of total retail sales in March and April — while grocery stayed flat.
