Super Bowl Party Costs

Egg prices set a new record last week, something many have felt firsthand. But with the Super Bowl around the corner, the real focus is on party staples—avocados, chicken wings, hamburger, and cheese—all of which are trending well above Super Bowl LVIII levels.

The most crucial market on that list? Chicken wings. So far, 2025 prices are the highest for January since the Los Angeles Rams were close to winning their first Super Bowl (in L.A.) in 2022 and the fourth most expensive in the past 11 years (think A.J. Brown). In fact, the current average is slightly above the previous 10-year January average. And for those keeping score—yes, Bills fans, I know you’re tired of keeping score but here is a little love for you—the red team from Kansas City has never won a Super Bowl when wing prices were this high. Unfortunately for those hoping to see someone else hoist the Lombardi, neither has that green team from Philadelphia. Want to learn how Datum FS can help you anticipate commodity volatility?
