My foodservice pals will be happy to know that total jobs in the industry in March were the highest since February 2020 (think pre Covid lockdown) and just a hair below that level. As the next chart shows (note the Gator colors...) labor in the foodservice supply chain is improving but is much more costly. And as you and your mothers know, this will temper the impact of any lower commodity markets on product prices. Further, employment growth in the foodservice supply chain is not keeping with foodservice sales growth amplifying risk in the chain.
