So... What’s Up With Table Eggs?
Domestic egg production is making a comeback, but it’s not quite championship-level yet. September’s output is roughly back to prior-year levels — but still well below the three-year average. Wholesale prices, on the other hand, have fallen to their lowest since fall 2023.
Translation? Consumers benched their egg-buying habits after record-high retail prices, and it’s going to take more retail price declines to bring demand back off the sidelines.
