Avian flu continues to impact table egg supplies
Speaking of higher, the table egg markets edged upward last week after three consecutive weeks of declines. The good news is that there has not been any table egg layer or pullet flocks impacted by avian flu since mid January. However, prior cases are having their impact on the current number of table egg laying hens. The March 1 table egg layer inventory declined from February for only the third time in the last seven years. Makes one think that the current USDA table egg supply forecasts over the next few months may be overstated
