Bottoming beef prices
For those keeping score, and perhaps Dan Campbell should have done a better job of such on his 4th down calls, beef 50 trim has jumped 70 (think Dan Skipper) percent since bottoming in the fall contributing to a bounce this month in the cost to produce hamburger. Hamburger costs in December fell to their lowest level in nearly three years. But as the chart shows, current costs are below trend line and the trend, which is your friend, is not lower. Suggests that higher hamburger costs are in front of us.
