Surging labor costs in the foodservice supply chain

Often times labor costs can be underestimated particularly in the supply chain. For those who like to keep score, and you know that's one of my favorite things to do, the foodservice supply chain average hourly wage was a record in July, up 6 percent from the previous year outpacing overall wage inflation which came in at 4.4 percent. Food manufacturing wages were Klump strong ("Hercules") rising 7.2 percent from 2022. This will continue to be a stress in the chain.
