Speaking of beef, here is some more good news. This week the National Weather Service released their updated drought outlook and a large part of cattle country is expected to see weather improvement this fall. As we have discussed, its hard to expand the cattle herd when there is limited grass. And with the herd near multi-generational lows, we desperately need to build the herd. But before we get too giddy here, any start to the rebuild could actually mitigate beef production in 2024 as more animals are retained.
